Super 8 Wedding Videography
Analog Film for Adventure Elopements & Intimate Weddings
Based in Seattle | Serving All of Washington
What is Super 8?
Super 8 is a vintage 8mm motion-picture film format popular in the 60’s-70s, known for its nostalgic, grainy texture and imperfect movement. The look is instantly recognizable — timeless, cinematic, and beautifully unpolished. We love Super 8 for elopements because it keeps the focus on your experience. Every second counts. There are no staged retakes or overproduction — just real moments, documented as they unfold. Why choose Super 8 over traditional wedding videography?
No constant direction or retakes
Simpler logistics + less “crowded” feel than hiring a separate videographer/team
Documentary-style filming that preserves your experience — feels like a friend following along with a camcorder!
Let the imperfections of analog film shine — feels real and lived in, like your memories
Captured seamlessly alongside photography — your photos + film will feel like one cohesive story
Ideal for couples who want something nostalgic, artful, timeless

FAQs on Super 8
-
Our Super 8 films are shot on our vintage Elmo 104 and Canon 514XL Super 8mm cameras. In a pinch, we have had to switch to digital if the weather doesn’t cooperate—these cameras are true antiques—in which case, we will recreate the classic Super 8 look in post. We only do this as a last resort—plus, we always aim to get some backup digital footage in case something happens to your film.
-
Most films end up around ~2-5 minutes long. Each one is unique so length can vary based on your coverage—we don’t set a cap!
-
Yes. We set our Super 8 reels to music, or we offer professional recorded audio as an add-on if you want audio of your vows, ceremony, or other ambient sounds from your day.
-
No—we offer this as an additional service for the eloping couples we photograph.
-
For 150+ guest weddings? Probably not. For elopements + intimate weddings? Often yes! If you want vows and speeches fully recorded, consider adding audio.

We will go anywhere in Washington state for adventure elopements. It’s important to us to keep it local as resident experts of the area, so we don’t offer travel outside of Washington.
