Super 8 Wedding Videography
Analog Film for Adventure Elopements & Intimate Weddings
Based in Seattle | Serving All of Washington
What is Super 8?
Super 8 is a vintage 8mm motion-picture film format popular in the 60’s-70s, known for its nostalgic, grainy texture and imperfect movement. The look is instantly recognizable — timeless, cinematic, and beautifully unpolished.I love Super 8 for elopements because it keeps the focus on your experience. Every second counts. There are no staged retakes or overproduction — just real moments, documented as they unfold. Why choose Super 8 over traditional wedding videography?
No constant direction or retakes
Simpler logistics + less “crowded” feel than hiring a separate videographer/team
Documentary-style filming that preserves your experience — feels like a friend following along with a camcorder!
Let the imperfections of analog film shine — feels real and lived in, like your memories
Captured seamlessly alongside photography — your photos + film will feel like one cohesive story
Ideal for couples who want something nostalgic, artful, timeless

FAQs on Super 8
-
Our Super 8 films are shot on our vintage Elmo 104 and Canon 514XL Super 8mm cameras. In a pinch, I have had to switch to digital if the weather doesn’t cooperate—these cameras are true antiques—in which case, I will recreate the classic Super 8 look in post. But I only do this as a last resort—plus, I always aim to get some backup digital footage in case something happens to your film.
-
Most films end up around ~2-5 minutes long. Each one is unique so length can vary based on your coverage — I don’t set a cap!
-
Yes. I will add music to your Super 8 film, or I offer professional recorded audio as an add-on if you want audio of your vows, ceremony, or other ambient sounds from your day.
-
No — I offer this as an additional service for the eloping couples I photograph.
-
For 150+ guest weddings? Probably not. For elopements + intimate weddings? Often yes! If you want vows and speeches fully recorded, consider adding audio.

I will go anywhere in Washington state for adventure elopements. It’s important to me to keep it local as a resident expert of the area, so I don’t offer travel outside of Washington.
