Washington Elopement Packages

Simple, stress-free elopement experiences anywhere in WA

Let us handle the logistics.

Our approach:

Less is more.

Eloping doesn't have to be complicated.

Most wedding advice tells you to add more: more vendors, more details, more expectations.

But it can be simpler than that — a joyous, intimate adventure with your love, somewhere beautiful.

The same thing you might two do on a day off — just with a little more paperwork, a little more planning. (Both things we can help with, by the way.)

“But shouldn’t we ____?” Only if you want. Only if it’s important to you.

Grab a $15 bouquet from Pike Place Market. Or go without — let the alpine meadows be your blooms. Wear the same hiking boots you’ve been wearing in for a decade. Do your own makeup. Or skip it entirely.

Say heartfelt words, from the heart. Cry. Kiss. Let your dress get dirty. Smell the wildflowers.

We’ll help with the details and the planning — you two just focus on the experience.

How to elope:

1. Get out in nature.
2. Say "I Do".

We’ll handle the rest.

Our approach:

Experience First.

Photos second.

Photographs are meant to serve the experience—to serve the moment. Not the other way around.

Your wedding day is not a photoshoot.

Yes, your photos are important. But the heart of your elopement is your experience. This is a chance to slow down, be present, and spend quality time together — not perform for the camera.

The best photos come from truly great experiences — exploring, connecting, saying your vows in a way that actually feels like you. Great photos help you remember that feeling.

Our approach is low-key and supportive: gentle direction, freedom and space for spontaneity, creating a mix of natural portraits, landscapes, details, and candid moments that tell the story of your adventure — without it feeling like a production.

Not a photoshoot — an adventure worth photographing

Meet the Photographers

Three photographers (Alanna, Ashton, and Tess) wearing hats and outdoor clothing, holding cameras, standing in front of a mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks.

Wilderpines is a small Seattle-based team of elopement photographers helping couples escape the wedding world and elope in the wild landscapes of Washington — from Mount Rainier and the North Cascades to Olympic National Park and beyond.

Together, we’ve photographed 180+ adventures, officiated 80+ ceremonies, and helped couples plan everything from sunrise solo hikes to multi-day mountaintop adventures.

We’ll bring our local expertise and leave-no-trace awareness to help plan the day, handle the logistics, and document the experience so you can stay present for what matters most: getting married somewhere beautiful in a way that feels like you.

Where we go for adventure elopements

Washington has SO much to offer for adventure elopements — snow-capped mountains and alpine meadows blooming with wildflowers, lush rainforests covered in moss and ferns, roaring waterfalls and rivers, and rugged, moody coastlines that go on for miles. We’ll go anywhere in Washington, but here are our favorite elopement locations:

A couple dressed in wedding attire standing hand in hand on a rocky ledge near a calm lake, with snow-capped mountains in the background and the sun shining brightly in the sky.

North Cascades + Mt. Baker

Our favorite alpine area: rugged, remote, iconic. Turquoise alpine lakes, lush forests, world-class mountain views. Options for hiking elopements + accessible ceremonies at Artist Point, Heather Meadows, Picture Lake, and more. Aim for July-Oct for best alpine conditions, or consider a winter elopement if you want to snowshoe.

A couple, dressed in wedding attire, walking hand-in-hand down a forest trail surrounded by tall trees and lush greenery.

Olympic National Park

Incredible diversity of scenery: mountains, forest, coastlines, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, all in one park. Lake Crescent, Hoh Rainforest, Hurricane Ridge, Ruby Beach — just a handful of our favorite spots. Great options for “just us” elopements or small groups. Many spots are accessible year-round, including the coast and rainforest — moody Twilight vibes, anyone?

Mount Rainier National Park

Great for hiking elopements + group ceremonies. Great diversity: mountains, meadows, forests, waterfalls. Sunrise, Tipsoo Lake, Paradise have lots of great hiking trails and accessible overlooks. Aim for July-Oct for clear alpine access, or winter wonderland elopements in Feb-Mar.

How this works

What it’s like to elope with us & how we help you plan

1. Pick a date + location together

Most couples don’t have an exact date or location picked out yet — that’s totally fine. Let’s hop on a call, and I’ll ask some questions and share recommendations based on what you’re envisioning.

Once we’ve got a date picked out, I can send over a contract to make things official!

2. I’ll share my resources with you

Right after booking, you'll get access to my full planning resource library — 150+ pages of Washington-specific guides, templates, and tools I’ve written and refined over hundreds of elopements.

    • Planning checklist

    • Preferred vendor recommendations list

    • Timeline guide + activity ideas

    • Washington travel guides

    • Budget & itinerary templates

    • Guides for attire, hair & makeup, DIY tips

    • Ceremony guides + vow writing tips

    • Marriage license + name-change guide

  • In the beginning I'll send you a brainstorming questionnaire to get your thoughts flowing, and to help me make personalized recommendations for what you’re looking for.

  • Personalized suggestions based on your vision, the season, and how far you want to hike/travel

  • I'll let you know what's required and walk you through the process. Most national parks require one; most national forests don't.

  • Personalized suggestions that fit your vibe (and budget)

  • I’ll craft a timeline that puts you in the right places at the right times — best light, fewest crowds, without feeling rushed.

  • We'll have Plan A, B, and C ready. If we need to pivot, I’ll take the lead so you're not making decisions on the fly.

  • I’ll help you find the perfect spot: secluded, stunning, accessible if needed. If I'm officiating, I'll craft a ceremony personalized to you — readings, rituals, symbolic touches — and help you through the paperwork too.

  • We'll talk through what to pack vs. what to borrow from our Trading Post (adventure gear, picnic supplies, lanterns, umbrellas, simple décor and more)

3. We plan your day together — support at every step

I’m here to support you through this entire process — from the idea stage through to final prep.

4. The adventure begins!

My day-of philosophy: your experience always comes first. The best photos come from truly great moments — not the other way around.

  • Candids, portraits, details, landscapes, quiet moments, and everything in between

  • Portrait time woven throughout your day, not crammed into a block

  • Gentle, movement-based direction — prompts when helpful, space when it's not. No stiff posing.

  • We slow down, explore, and let the day unfold naturally

The result: A gallery that feels lived-in, timeless, and deeply personal — rooted in real experience, not a performance.

Postcards

A custom-designed postcard from the place you got married, made from one of your photos, in the style of vintage national park postcards. Unique, nostalgic, tangible proof – you really did that.

Super 8 Film

Documentary-style analog video captured on our vintage Super 8 cameras — timeless, dreamy, instantly nostalgic. A little imperfect, but that’s the point.

“Ashton went above and beyond. Not only did he capture every special moment, but he also provided much-needed hot coffee at 6 a.m., bandaids for when a choice to jump off a rock was made, committing to get into Lake Crescent when we decided to jump in. So many memorable moments he made with us. We seriously walked away feeling like we have a new friend in our life, which was icing on top of the cake for our perfect day. Thank you so much!”

— Casey & Jarrett @ Olympic

“They were incredible throughout the planning phase. They were on top of all the nuances of an adventure elopement and kept us up-to-date, including national park rules and requirements, road and weather conditions, leave no trace principles, contingency plans, and more. As adventure elopement planners, Wilderpines is top notch and exceeded our expectations.”

— Monica & Nic @ Mt. Rainier

Don't take it from us...

From past adventurers

“We had an absolutely amazing experience! From the beginning we were well taken care of. Their communication is stellar and every single detail was thought through for our special day. On the day Ashton went above and beyond to make things comfortable and magical for us. Like having a friend spend the day with us and take our photos. 10/10 recommend Wilderpines to anyone looking for an easy, intimate, magical, stress-free elopement day. Thank you!”

— Kayley & Joe @ Mt. Baker

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Peak season (June thru Oct) – 9-12+ months recommended

Slow season (Nov thru May) – 6-9 months

We occasionally take on last-minute elopements (within ~1-3 months) — feel free to reach out for availability.

  • Absolutely! I love helping couples pick the perfect spot – I’ll share recommendations based on scenery, accessibility, privacy, logistics + travel needs.

  • Hiking is totally optional. Around half our elopements include hiking — others feature scenic drives, cozy cabins, boat rides, picnics, or barefoot beach ceremonies.

  • Depends on your location. We’ll help walk you through the process and make sure you have what you need.

  • Officiant – For “just us” elopements we offer complimentary officiating! If you’re inviting guests, we have a list of amazing pros you can hire, or resources to share if you want a loved one to perform the ceremony.

Witnesses – You’ll need two to sign. No guests? No problem. We’ll find friendly strangers on the trail or pop into the visitor center before we file. If we’re not officiating, we can be a witness.

We’ll talk through all this during the planning and make sure you have what you need.

  • Guests — Yes, with some limits. Depending on your location/permits and what package you have, bring up to 10-20. For multi-day packages you can bring up to 30.

Pets — Most national forest lands allow pets; most national parks do. We’ll help you figure out what’s allowed and what’s safe for your furry companion.

  • This is the Pacific Northwest — we’re ready for it. Rain, fog, snow, sun: we embrace it all. That said, if weather becomes unsafe or inaccessible (wildfire, closures, etc.), we’ll pivot with a solid backup plan. Contingency planning is built into what we do.
